Tragic Korean War

The People’s Republic of China came to North Korea’s aid and the United Nations (UN), with the United States that was the principal participant, joined the war on the side of the South Korea.

Since more than a million combat casualties had been suffered on both sides, the Korean war eventually stopped in July 1953 and we are still divided into two hostile states.

In 1954, negotiations produced DMZ, and ever since then that is the de facto boundary between South and North Korea.
